Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” -Brené Brown
Seeking a path to get help is a courageous step to be commended and rewarded. I admire the courage it takes to begin this journey, and I am humbled when children or adults open their hearts and allow me to support them. During our work together, I will share tools to help you unlock your potential and live your desired life.
Many describe me as warm, energetic, and inviting. My approach is to listen to, appreciate, and respect my clients while always holding a positive view of them, regardless of their circumstances. While providing a safe and supportive space, we will sort through the root cause of your struggles while exploring and gaining new insights to achieve long-lasting strategies to heal your heart, mind, and soul.
I am driven to provide a highly personalized approach for each client to achieve their desired personal growth. Having specialized training in utilizing Sandtray Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which are the leading treatments for trauma and PTSD.
My passion is to help people of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religious affiliations, sex/gender identities, economic, and ability statuses. I aim to help my clients heal from their wounds, enabling each to live a more empowered and fulfilling life. The work of healing is not one of perfection but one of transformation.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better – Maya Angelou
I firmly believe that we all do the best we can with the knowledge we have at any given moment in our lives. If there has been a time in your life when you have felt “I should have done better,” it is OK and very normal to feel that way. We can change our lives when we recognize the need to do better. Taking the step to get help will be the action that makes all the difference in your life.
People often presume all therapists are good listeners, yet many often do more of the talking. I am a “listener” who seeks to respond directly to what I hear. My approach to working with clients is to start with their strengths. Everyone has the potential to heal and choose the life they want to live. We will look at the connection between the mind and body and how trauma affects our ability to make decisions.
With an understanding of the trauma impact, we will work to remap your mind and body patterns. Therapists often ask, “Can you tell me what to do?” My approach is to work with you through questions about your unique situation. These questions have so often yielded an “aha” moment. Your mind provides the answer you were seeking all along. I have the pleasure of the “universe” providing your solution, and then we can work together and devise a plan that you can act on to move forward.
Often, working with clients struggling with substance abuse, they arrive and wonder about being judged by their therapist. Friends and clients alike attest to my open, honest, non-judgmental, & empathetic approach to working with you. I am in awe of the strength it takes to seek help in establishing a course of action to recover and gain stability.
Leslie attended Weber State University, receiving her Bachelor’s in Social Work, then completed her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Utah and has been an LCSW for several years 🙂

“It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.” – Laura Ingalls Wilder.
The most important characteristic I possess, which I also believe is most important in psychology, is the ability to pay close attention to the details in a person’s nonverbal and verbal communication. This allows one to read between and beyond the words and to focus on the message. My experience is working with Women and Children’s issues from 4 years old through Seniors. My focus includes a variety of issues, such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, PTSD, depression, ADHD, anxiety, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, DMDD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, anger issues, grief, single parenting, and other mood disorders. My nature is to be empathetic, and I have always been authentically interested in the well-being and uniqueness of those around me. I provide a safe place to explore issues that may be preventing clients from living the lives they want.

You don’t need to be perfect to be loved.” – Lindsay Hansen Park.
In college, I watched a lecture on mental health. I was so enthralled that my head spun, and I set my sights on becoming a mental health clinician. The speaker’s love of helping others made me realize that I wanted to walk alongside people as they navigated difficult things, asked big questions, and built more authentic lives. I still wake up grateful to be a therapist because it felt like a calling, and it still does.
Most of my clients are intelligent, curious, and sensitive, often facing challenges like anxiety, trauma, faith transitions, and sexual desire discrepancies. If you’re looking to untangle old messages around sexual shame, sexual issues, sex, identity, or self-worth, you’re not alone—and YOU ARE NOT BROKEN. I work with young adults, women, men, and couples. —especially those deconstructing harmful beliefs, healing from shame, or exploring their sexuality and relationships in new ways.
I use my experience with a variety of modalities and techniques. As an experienced clinician, having worked with thousands of clients, I am confident in tailoring the program to each individual, as each is unique. I’m experienced with the Gottman Method, DBT, CBT, trauma-informed, and strengths-based work. I believe in curiosity over judgment, empathy over shame, and helping clients find solutions that align with their values. Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into IFS and attachment-focused EMDR to expand my tools for healing.
I connect with people through shared interests—such as TV shows, cycling, and good books—and I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative space to explore, grow, and have more fun. Clients describe me as compassionate, a focused listener who can understand and validate their issues. Clients often comment on the diverse materials I present to them because I learn every free moment… I’m a knowledge hoarder! Friends and family are my world, even when I am away, presenting at conferences. I love what I do, and it’s who I am. I love the song “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman because—just like therapy—it reminds me to believe in who I am.
Insurance/Payment:
I see clients insured by BCBS, Aetna, Anthem, Behavioral Health Organization, GEHA, Medicaid, Optum, Regence, Select Health, Tricare, UMR, UnitedHealthcare, and more, with more to come soon.

Casie Lambert
“No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” ―Virginia Woolf
Hi there! I’m Casie—a Master of Social Work intern, lifelong learner, and someone who believes deeply in the power of connection. I’m passionate about helping kids and teens navigate life’s challenges. Growing up can be tough, especially when big feelings, grief, or trauma are part of the picture. I understand how heavy that can feel, and I work hard to make therapy a space that’s safe, supportive, and even a little fun—because healing doesn’t have to be scary.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for each client’s journey. Whether we’re working through anxiety, grief, identity questions, or just figuring out how to feel more like yourself, I show up with compassion and care. Healing can be messy and nonlinear, especially when trauma or loss is involved, and I’m here to help you feel understood, empowered, and maybe even laugh a little along the way.
I specialize in supporting kids and teens navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, trauma, grief, autism, identity exploration, family conflict, and relationship struggles. My approach draws from evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and trauma-informed care. I’m also expanding my toolkit with sand tray therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to deepen support for emotional regulation and trauma recovery.
I work closely with caregivers because healing often happens in relationships. Through joint sessions and parent consultations, I help families strengthen communication, connection, and understanding—especially when navigating the ripple effects of trauma or loss.
Outside the therapy room, I find joy in creativity, music, meaningful conversations, and time with loved ones—including my bunny Bentley and my kitty Mushu. I’m continually inspired by the resilience of my clients and honored to be part of their growth. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s down-to-earth and committed to creating a space where young people can learn how to thrive—even in the midst of grief or healing—I’d love to connect.

“I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.” Brene’ Brown
Help your children, yourself, a friend, or a family member. We care.
In my early years, I encountered challenges that brought many “helpers” into my life — clinicians, advocates, and law enforcement professionals. Their support, guidance, and compassion had a profound impact on me, inspiring my lifelong goal of helping others. After completing a 30-year career helping individuals and families navigate the criminal justice system, my goal is to utilize my personal and professional experience to serve my counseling clients. My work as a juvenile probation officer, victim advocate, drug-endangered child specialist, and family court clerk has equipped me with valuable skills and insight. These roles have enabled me to connect with teens and young adults in meaningful ways and support them through their challenges. They also prepared me for my role as a mental health professional who has had life experiences with situations that affect many Americans.
I love learning about what you enjoy doing in your spare time, what you dream about/are passionate about, and the people who are most important to you.
Therapy can help by providing a partner to walk with you as you work through complex life issues. Rapport with your clinician is crucial, as it allows for movement to a place where healing and growth can occur. I use a structured approach that combines tools from CBT, DBT, and ACT to help clients process trauma. For clients who benefit from a less structured method, I incorporate the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach. I am experienced in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD.
I am currently attending EMDR training and expanding my skills by learning play therapy and sand tray techniques to better support younger children. I have experience working with children ages 10–17, young adults, couples, and adults of all ages. Throughout my career, I have remained a strong advocate for diversity and equality.
Laura Simonson earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson University.

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow.” Mary Anne Radmacher
People are always doing the best they can with the tools at their disposal. Being a human is tough, but we are also incredibly resilient and capable. We all face challenges that can knock us down, leaving us unsure of how to get back up. My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you on that journey—supporting you as you “get back up,” grow, and move toward the life and experiences you truly want. I sincerely believe in the strength and goodness within people. Our thoughts and behaviors are shaped by many different life factors and experiences—not because anyone is inherently “bad.” With compassion and understanding, I help clients explore what may be keeping them “stuck” and discover their capacity for change and healing.
My passion for social work comes from my own experiences with mental health in my personal and family life. The therapists who supported me along my journey made a lasting impact, and I knew early on that I wanted to offer that same support to others.
Clients have described me as compassionate, kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental. In sessions, my goal is for you to feel truly heard, validated, and supported. I value flexibility and collaboration, and I welcome feedback to ensure our work together meets your unique needs. As a fellow human, I make mistakes too, and I believe in being honest and accountable as part of building trust.
I have experience working with children, teens, and adults in mental health settings, and I welcome clients ages six and up from all backgrounds, cultures, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. My training encompasses various approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, play therapy, and traditional talk therapy. I am also passionate about continuing to grow my skills, with future interests in IFS, EMDR, and sand tray therapy.
I earned my bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Environmental & Sustainability Studies, along with a minor in Business, from the University of Utah. I am currently completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Utah, with graduation scheduled for Spring 2026. Outside of work, I love spending time in nature—whether hiking, skiing, or paddleboarding. I also enjoy reading, relaxing at home, and catching a good show on Netflix.

“If you’re waiting for someone to believe in you, you’ll be waiting forever. You must believe in yourself.” …. Cher
I want to understand you as you are and what your story is, not just what you are in counseling for. I like to build connections based on similarities or shared interests/knowledge/experiences/values. I am here to listen, support you, and help you be happy with what looks back at you in the mirror. Having survived a near-death experience, I learned about myself and saw my purpose in life.
Therapy can heal by providing a safe space to feel held and supported while working through complex life events. You will leave sessions feeling progressed and more confident. My approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients address personal life challenges. I connect and work well with people who have faced trauma.
Clearing past trauma has to involve getting to the root and how it impacts both your mind and body. Next is remapping your brain by removing the fear and “spiraling” that can happen when triggered by the past.
I also focus on ADHD, Anxiety/Depression, chronic health challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues, and brain trauma injuries. I mix a variety of methods depending on each client’s needs. I regularly use somatic, IFS, EMDR, positive mindfulness, CBT, expressive writing, and art techniques. I’ve become more experienced with play therapy and sand tray as I work with children; those tools often help them open up.
We aim to bring mind, body, and soul together so that you can live at peace with your life. I work with young adults, preteens, children six and up, and middle-aged adults who want to be here doing the work.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University (ACMHC credentials, Certified Eating Coach).

“All the answers you seek are already inside you, sometimes you just need a guide to help you find them.” – Heather Ash Amara.
My inherent strengths include a neverending desire to learn, emotional intelligence, listening, empathy, analysis/critical thinking, and philosophy, which combine to calm my clients. I achieve this through self-discipline, organization, and setting my environment to be structured and “styled” for my clients. I want you to feel so comfortable and supported that you can open up and share anything with me, no matter how shameful it may feel. Difficult admissions and realizations will come quickly because you know I’m truly listening to you, and I never judge. My confident demeanor and drive help you feel you obtained progress or understanding from each of our sessions.
When we begin working together to establish the results you seek, one priority will be helping you get closer to your truest self so that you can better understand what you want out of life. I will provide different perspectives to help you get “unstuck.” I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, attachment theory, and Carl Rogers’ client-centered approach. I am experienced in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and social-emotional issues. I use play therapy for children and am learning more sand tray skills.
I look forward to learning eye movement desensitization (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), “parts” work (IFS), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I’m especially experienced working with teens and young adults, including those with learning disabilities. I also work well with adults, families, and children.
My friends describe me as warm, bubbly, non-judgmental, adventurous, and empathetic. I practice Muay Thai, hike, run, bike, and ski. I’m learning to play guitar, and I love to read. My stupid human tricks are that I can bend my fingers back to my wrist, have double-jointed elbows, and I can pop my thumbs out of their sockets! Enough about me, TMI TMI 🙂 I do hope you can schedule a consultation or appointment. Let’s discuss your needs and issues.
